Long Beach's season-opener at L.A. Pierce College rained out
The Long Beach City College baseball team will have to wait an additional day to open up the 2008 season. Friday afternoon's non-conference game at Los Angeles Pierce College has been rained out.
The game has tentatively been rescheduled for Friday, March 21.
Long Beach is still scheduled to play two games on Saturday at the Bakersfield College tournament. Weather permitting, LBCC will face Golden West College at 4:30 p.m., followed by an 8 p.m. game against host Bakersfield.
Head coach Casey Crook returns for his 15th season in 2008. Last year, the Vikings compiled a 24-20 overall record and finished fifth in the South Coast Conference with a 14-10 mark. LBCC won the 2006 state championship. |
