Crook named ABCA/Diamond
State Coach of the Year
Long Beach City College’s Casey Crook has been named the 2006 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Diamond Sports Company California Community Colleges Coach of the Year.
He will be honored at the ABCA National Convention on January 5 in Orlando, Florida at the annual Hall of Fame/Coach of the Year Banquet.
Crook receives the honor following LBCC’s school-record setting state championship season. The 2006 Vikings closed the season with 41-10 overall record, the 41 wins the most in school history. It was LBCC’s first state title since 1976.
Crook was also named South Coast Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Vikings to a 21-3 conference record.
In 13 seasons at LBCC, Crook has compiled an overall record of 318-236-6. |
