Vikings capture 15 All-Mission Conference American Division honors
Sophomore running back Richard Nichols (Jordan HS), sophomore kicker Jeffrey Hastings (Poly) and freshman quarterback Alex Aispuro (Jordan) earned unanimous first-team All-Mission Conference American Division honors and head a list of 15 Long Beach City College Vikings recognized today at the conference postseason coaches meeting in Long Beach.
Also just days after capturing a share of the American Division title, head coach Jerry Jaso was named Co-Head Coach of the Year.
Nichols lead the LBCC offense with 11 rushing touchdowns and closed the regular season as the Mission Conference’s third leading running back with 988 yards.
Hastings closed the regular season making 10 of 12 field goal attempts and had the conference's second-longest field goal of 48 yards.
Aispuro was the conference’s No. 2 quarterback and passed for 2,255 yards with 15 touchdowns this season.
In all, the Vikings captured nine first-team honors.
Long Beach returns to action on Saturday when it hosts West Los Angeles College in the Mission Conference American Bowl. The Round 1 Southern California Playoff game is set for 1 pm at LBCC’s Veterans Memorial Stadium.
