Vikings
drop SCC South Division opener 68-56 at El Camino
Sophomore
guard Nathan Thompson scored 14 points, but it
wasn’t enough as El Camino College beat Long
Beach by a final score of 68-56 in both teams’
South Coast Conference South Division opening
game on Friday night.
El
Camino’s Cameron Phillips exploded for a game-high
34 points to lead the Warriors to the win. Forward
Markee White added 12 points for the Vikings.
With
the loss, LBCC’s record fell to 5-14 overall,
0-1 in the SCC South. The Vikings return to action
on Wednesday (Jan. 21) when they host crosstown
rival Cerritos College at 7:30 pm
at the Hall of Champions Gym.
