Men’s Soccer:
Vikings cruise to 2-0 road win at Los Angeles Mission
The LBCC men’s osccer team rolled to a 2-0 non-conference win at Los Angeles Mission College on Tuesday. The victory improved Long Beach to 2-0-1 on the season and was the Vikings’ third straight shutout to open the season.
Freshman forward Manuel Batista gave the Vikings the early lead with his unassisted goal in the eighth minute. Sophomore midfielder Paco Prado added to the lead with his goal from freshman Omar Idrisa in the 18th minute.
The Vikings easilly controlled to the tempo of the game despite playing in 95 degree heat. Co-head coach Cameron Beaulac praised the play off the bench from Addison Colangelo, Pedro Chavez, and Murilo Rodrigues.
Sophomore Chris DeWalt had an easy time in goal, posting just two saves.
The Vikings return to action on Friday (Sept. 5) when they travel to Orange Coast College for a non-conference game.
