Men’s Soccer:
Long Beach ties No. 8 L.A. Harbor on the road
The Long Beach City College men's soccer team earned a 1-1 tie at No. 8 nationally-ranked L.A. Harbor College on Friday in a South Coast Conference game.
After trailing during most of the first half, LBCC scored minutes before halftime to even the game at 1-1.
Manuel Batista received a crossing ball from Ryuta Iihama and headed the ball into the goal for his 14 goal of the season, and fourth in league play.
Goalkeeper Jose Gomez entered the game in minute 40 and kept the net clean for the remainder of the game.
During the second half, Long Beach had two balls go off of the post, and one off of the crossbar, but where unable to score.
Central defenders Glen O'Gara and Juan Guzman had a very strong game for Long Beach.
LBCC next plays Compton away on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 4 p.m.
