Men’s Soccer:
Long Beach, East L.A. play to scoreless draw
The Long Beach City College men’s soccer played visiting East Los Angeles College to a 0-0 tie in a South Coast Conference game on Friday.
LBCC's record moved to 10-1-5 overall and 3-1-2 SCC, while East L.A. went to 4-7-5, and 0-3-3 in conference play.
The Vikings outshot East L.A. by a 13-6 margin but couldn’t find the back of the net. Twice the Vikings had empty net shots blocked by ELAC defenders covering the goal.
LBCC sophomore Chris DeWalt posted four saves in goal for his fifth shutout of the season.
The Vikings return to action on Tuesday (Oct. 21) when they host rival Cerritos College in SCC game at 4 p.m.
