Co-Head
Coaches:
Cameron Beaulac, Pat Noyes
Beaulac and Noyes have been co-head coaches of the LBCC men’s soccer program for the past four years. During this time, the team has reached the state playoffs each year and won a South Coast Conference championship in 2006. In both the 2004 and 2006 seasons, coach Beaulac and Noyes received the SCC Co-Coach of the Year honors by their peers.
While at LBCC, Beaulac and Noyes compiled a record of 44-28-16. During this time, the soccer program has placed over a dozen players to four-year universities with scholarships. LBCC has had 32 players receive all-conference honors, including 16 first-teamers, one conference player of the year, three All-West region, one All-American first-team member, as well as one national freshman of the year.
At the high school level, Beaulac coached for 18 years, 16 of those years being varsity, 13 at Long Beach Polytechnic. During his tenure at Polytechnic, he won three league championships, one C.I.F. championship, and placed more players into four year colleges than any other coach in the surrounding area. He also won numerous coach of the year awards.
Beaulac was also head coach of Long Beach State’s soccer club team from 1995-98 where they won the conference title each year and qualified for regionals. For these accomplishments, Beaulac was voted conference coach of the year each year and regional coach of the year in 1998.
At the club level, Beaulac has been extremely successful. He has been part of two national titles, coached at the premier level, and won such prestigious tournaments as Nomads, NHB, Celtic, Mission Viejo, Orange, Chino, and Cerritos to name a few. In addition he has over 100 former players who have received college scholarships, as well as players who have gone on to play professionally both in the MLS and overseas, been on the U.S. Olympic team, and represented the U.S. on the National team.
As a player, Beaulac prepped at Lakewood High School then went on to play at Division I UC Irvine. While at Irvine, he was a four year starter, team captain, and led the team in assists during one of his seasons. In 1988-89 he was an All-Big West scholar-athlete recipient. He still shares the record for most assists in a game with three.
Beaulac earned his Bachelor of Science degree from UC Irvine in 1988 and Masters of Arts in human performance and sports from New Mexico Highland University in 2007. He also holds a California state teaching license and a National C coaching license.
Before arriving at LBCC, Noyes completed his fifth season as head coach at Cabrillo High School. His squad went 14-5-3 and tied co-head coach Cameron Beaulac’s Poly team for the Moore League championship.
His 2003 league title for was the first in Cabrillo High School history.
Noyes has served as head coach at Whittier High School (1994-98), Whittier College (1994-98), and Villa Park High School (1988-94). He has also been an assistant coach at Concordia University (1994) and at Cal State Los Angeles (1989).
Noyes holds a US Soccer B license and a Premier Diploma from the NSCAA. He also holds a National GK Diploma from the NSCAA. Noyes currently serves as the State Technical Coordinator for NSCAA in Southern California.
Noyes was also a standout athlete. At Temple City High School, Noyes earned first-team All-CIF honors and was a three-time first-team all-league selection.
In 1978, Noyes was a member of the US National U-16 team.
He went on to play at the University of Pacific where he twice earned All-Pacific Coast Conference honors.
Following college, Noyes played for six seasons (1987-92) in the Southern California Professional Soccer League.
Noyes received his bachelor's degree in physical education from Cal State Los Angeles in 1991.
Assistant
Coach: Brent Whitfield
Assistant coach Brent Whitfield returns for his fourth season at LBCC.
Whitfield, a Cal State Fullerton product and native of Long Beach, is a member of Chivas USA of Major League Soccer (MLS).
Last year, Whitfield was the Seattle Sounders' second-leading scorer in 2005, amassing six goals and three assists for 15 points in his rookie campaign in the USL First Division. Previously, Whitfield played for the Southern California Seahorses of the Premier Development League.
As a midfielder at Cal State Fullerton (CSUF), Whitfield tallied 23 career goals, nine assists for 55 points. In his senior season in 2003, Whitfield was a Second Team All-Big West Conference selection as he led the CSUF Titans in scoring with nine goals and 18 points. In 2002 Whitfield recorded a team-leading five assists.
Whitfield received Co-CIF Player of the Year honors and was selected as the CIF Finals MVP in his senior season (1998) at Long Beach Poly HS.
