Long Beach men and women fall to Chaffey in SCC dual meet
The Long Beach City College men’s swimming and diving team suffered a 105-25 loss and the Lady Vikings fell 89-33 to visiting Chaffey College in their final South Coast Conference dual meet of the season on Friday.
The loss closed the men’s dual meet record at 2-3 while the women end the regular season with a 3-2 mark.
LBCC’s men and women both won two events each.
Leading the way for the men with first-place finishes were sophomore Damjan Dudic in 50-yard freestyle (22.09) and freshman Kenji Miyahara in the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.40).
For the women, winning their events were sophomore Jamie Baumler in the 50-yard freestyle with a personal-best time of 25.64 and freshman Mieke Howell in the 100-yard IM at 1:09.10.
Freshman Jenna Stain also posted a good time of 2:08.99 in the 200-yard freestyle for third place.
The postseason is up next for the Vikings. LBCC returns to action on April 24-26 at the South Coast Conference Championships at Pasadena City College. |
