Men’s Track and Field:
Vikings bring home nine top-three finishes from LBSU
Long Beach City College freshman Keawe Block was first in his section of the 110-meter high hurdles and sophomore Damien White took first in the 100 meters to lead the men's track team at Long Beach State’s Jack Rose Relays. Overall, Long Beach earned nine top-three finishes from the meet.
Block cruised to 15.48 for first in his section of the 110 hurdles, while White clocked in at 10.70 to take his section of the 100.
Sophomore Rodney Hawkins had a good day in jumps, taking third in both the long jump (23-2 ¾) and the triple jump (47-0 ¼).
LBCC’s 4x200 meter relay team was second with a time of 1:29.08 in its section and in the 400-meter hurdles both Vannie Prudhomme (55.74) and David Decasas (55.84) took third in their respective sections.
Long Beach is back in action next Saturday (Mar. 11) competing split-squad at both the Cal State Fullerton Ben Brown Relays and the Bakersfield Relays. |
