Men’s Track and Field:
Braman, Prudhomme help lead Vikings to third place at SCC meet
The Long Beach City College men totaled 116 points to finish in third place at a six-team South Coast Conference track and field meet at Veterans Stadium on Friday afternoon.
The Viking men won four events and totaled 11 top-three finishes.
The mark of the meet went to LBCC freshman Bryan Braman in the javelin. In just his first meet of the season, Braman tossed a state-best mark of 210-0 to easily win first place.
Sophomore Vannie Prudhomme also had a good afternoon, taking first in the 110-meter high hurdles (14.39) and second in the high jump (6-8).
Other first-place finishes for the Vikings were freshman Marquan Jackson in the triple jump (13.69) and freshman Bobby Workman in the 400-meter hurdles.
El Camino College was first in the team standings with 175.5 points. Cerritos was second with 137.5, followed by Long Beach (116), L.A. Southwest (50), Pasadena (42), and L.A. Trade Tech (1).
The LBCC men return to action next Friday (Apr. 11) at the UCLA Rafer Johnson Invitational. |
