Men’s Volleyball:
Vikings open 2006 season by winning LBCC Invitational
The Long Beach City College men's volleyball team opened up its 2005 season by picking up eight tournament wins to capture the LBCC Invitational championship.
The Vikings defeated the UC Santa Barbara alumni team 25-19 in the tournament final to cap their day.
Long Beach rolled to six pool play wins before downing Utah Valley College 25-14 and the LBCC alumni team 25-17 in the playoffs.
LBCC returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 4) when it heads south for the Grossmont College Tournament.
The Vikings open up their home and match schedule on February 8 when they host San Diego City College in a 6 pm match.
