Men’s Volleyball:
Long Beach off to 3-0 start after home sweep of Palomar
The Long Beach City College men’s volleyball team is off to another great start under third-year head coach Randy Totorp, beginning the 2006 season with a 3-0 record in match play. On Friday (Feb. 24), the Vikings cruised to a 3-0 sweep of Palomar College at home.
LBCC won the match by scores of 25-6, 26-24, and 25-20.
Sophomore outside hitter Sam Pech (Jordan HS) led the Vikings to win with 16 kills, 7 digs, and 3 blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Matt De Lotto (Clovis West HS) also chipped in with 10 kills, 5 blocks, and 3 digs.
Long Beach is back in action on Wednesday (March 1) when it hosts San Diego Mesa College in a 6 p.m. non-conference match. |
