Men’s Volleyball:
LBCC rolls to ninth straight win with sweep of Santa Barbara
The Long Beach City College men’s volleyball team extended its winning streak to nine matches with its 3-0 Western State Conference win over Santa Barbara City College Wednesday night.
The Vikings swept their fifth opponent of the season, winning by scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 26-24. The win improved LBCC to 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the WSC.
Freshman outside hitter Derrick Seay (Granite Bay, CA) had a good overall night, posting six kills, two blocks, and two digs. Freshman middle blocker Chris Ongay (Whittier HS) chipped in with five kills and five blocks.
The loss dropped Santa Barbara to 5-4 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
The Vikings return to action on Friday (Mar. 24) when they travel to Santa Monica College for a 6 p.m. WSC match.
