Volleyball:
LBCC
remains undefeated in WSC after 3-0 win at Santa
Monica
The
LBCC men’s volleyball team swept Santa Monica
College 3-0 on Wednesday night to remain unbeaten
in Western State Conference action.
The
Vikings won the match by scores of 30-28, 30-19,
and 30-27. LBCC’s seventh straight win improved
its record to 9-2 overall and 5-0 in the WSC.
Freshman
outside hitter Sam Pech had a good all-around
night, collecting 8 kills, 4 blocks, 10 digs,
and served up 3 aces. Sophomore outside hitter
Thomas Vito led LBCC with 13 kills and added 3
blocks with 7 digs.
Also
for Long Beach, sophomore middle blocker KeAlii
Chang had 8 kills and 8 blocks, while freshman
middle blocker Larry Taylor chipped in with 10
kills and 4 blocks. Freshman right side Jonathan
Charette posted 5 kills, 3 blocks, and 7 digs,
while freshman setter Garrett Morales led LBCC
with 41 assists.
The
Vikings return to action on Friday (April 2) at
Moorpark College for a 6 pm WSC match.
