Men’s Volleyball:
Vikings’ season ends with playoff loss at Irvine Valley College
Long Beach City College’s quest for its second straight state championship came to an end on Tuesday, as the Vikings were swept 3-0 by Irvine Valley College in the first round of the 2005 men’s volleyball regional playoffs.
LBCC lost the match by scores of 14-25, 21-25, and 16-25. Earlier in the season, the Vikings swept the Lasers in three games.
LBCC closes the 2004 season with an 11-6 overall record. The Vikings finished tied with three other teams for the Western State Conference title with a 7-3 mark.
It was LBCC’s second consecutive conference championship under two-year head coach Randy Totorp.
