Darkness halts LBCC’s conference opener against L.A. Harbor
Long Beach City College’s South Coast Conference opener against Los Angeles Harbor College at LBCC was stopped after 10 innings because of darkness. The score was tied 1-1 when play was halted.
The game is scheduled to be continued from where it left off next Wednesday, March 4 at 3 p.m. in Long Beach.
Long Beach took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third when left fielder Karina Martinez’ two-out infield single brought in second baseman Jean Gallegos.
Harbor tied up the game in the top of the sixth when the Seahawks took advantage of a pair of LBCC errors to post an unearned run off starter Christine Gonzalez. Christine Galvan’s bases loaded ground out drove in Tiana Tuinei for the equalizer.
LBCC returns to action on Friday (Feb. 27) when it travels to Glendale for a 3 p.m. non-conference game. |
