Women’s Basketball:

Long Beach captures 73-57 win over L.A. City College

Led by freshman forward Obiageli Obiago’s (Tacoma, WA) 25-point, 19-rebound performance, Long Beach came away with its biggest win of the season Wednesday night by beating L.A. City College 73-57.

LBCC held the Cubs scoreless for the first five minutes of the second half to pull away for the 16-point win.

Sophomore forward Aja Trotter (Poly HS) and freshman guard Dominique Lott (Bellflower HS) both scored 14 points for the Vikings.

Freshman guard Adriana Tavalin scored 21 points to lead the Cubs.

LBCC improved to 6-12 while L.A. City fell to 11-7. The Vikings return to action next Wednesday (Jan 19, 5:30 pm) when it hosts El Camino College in its SCC South Division opener.
