Coach: Trimeka Jackson (Fifth Season)
Former Long Beach City College standout and Santa Clara University assistant coach Trimeka Jackson returns for her fifth season as head coach of the Lady Vikings basketball team in 2008.
In 2006-07, Jackson led the Vikings to their second straight South Coast Conference South Division championship with a 7-1 record and a Southern California Regional Playoffs appearance.
Last season, LBCC compiled a 20-9 overall record to to improve Jackson's career record with the Vikings to 46-37.
Trimeka Jackson replaced 13-year head coach Barbara Jackson, who stepped down from the position after sitting out the 2003-04 season while on a one-year sabbatical leave.
Barbara Jackson coached Trimeka Jackson during the 1990-91 and 1991-92 seasons. As a sophomore, Jackson earned All-South Coast Conference honors at forward for LBCC.
Jackson transferred to Cal State Dominguez Hills where she helped lead the Toros to a 1995 conference title and the school’s first-ever NCAA Division II Tournament berth.
Following her playing career, Jackson served as an assistant coach at Dominguez Hills for three seasons. In 1998, she moved on to Cal State Fullerton, serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for four years.
In July of 2002, Jackson joined the coaching staff at Santa Clara University where she was the team’s recruiting coordinator for the past two seasons.
Jackson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Cal State Dominguez Hills in 1996. She is currently working on her Masters in kinesiology at Cal State Fullerton. Jackson is a 1990 graduate of Long Beach Poly High School.
