Women’s Soccer:
Long Beach rolls to third straight win, beat L.A. Harbor 6-1
The Long Beach City College women’s soccer team cruised to a 6-1 South Coast Conference win over visiting L.A. Harbor College on Tuesday.
The win was LBCC’s third straight and improved its record to 11-4-3 overall and 5-2-1 conference play. Over that stretch, the Vikings have outscored their opponents by a 17-2 margin.
Five different Vikings scored this afternoon, with freshman forward Hannah Escamilla (Paramount HS) leading the way with two goals and one assist.
Freshmen midfielders Allie Escobedo (Canyon HS) and Sandra Hernandez (Magnolia HS) both tallied a goal with two assists, and freshmen forwards Megan Rossee (Lakewood HS) and Daisy Vega (Paramount HS) both chipped in with single goals.
Sophomore goalie Rita Brown (Valencia HS) made one save in goal on four total shots.
For L.A. Harbor (4-10-2, 1-6-1 SCC), forward Ana Huerta scored the lone goal to give the Seahawks a short-lived 1-0 lead in the 15th minute. Goalie Kendra Taylor posted 8 saves.
The Vikings return to action on Thursday (Oct 27) when they travel to El Camino College for a 2 pm SCC game. |
