Women’s Soccer:
LBCC gets No. 7 seed for SoCal Playoffs, host Moorpark Saturday

The defending state champion LBCC women’s soccer team received the No. 7 seed for the 2006 Southern California Regional Playoffs. On Saturday (Nov. 18), the Vikings will host No. 10-seed Moorpark College at 2 pm in an opening round game.

LBCC enters Saturday’s game with a 14-5-3 overall record and finished second in the South Coast Conference with an 8-3-1 record.

Moorpark is 13-4-3 overall and finished in third place in the Western State Conference North Division with a 7-3-2 mark.

The winner of the Round 1 game will face the winner of No. 2 Santiago Canyon and No. 15 Victor Valley on Tuesday. The higher seeded team will host that game.

Long Beach looks to win its seventh state championship.
