Women’s Track and Field:
Long Beach brings home five top-20 finishes from Cerritos Invitational
The Long Beach City College women’s track and field team earned five top-20 finishes at the Cerritos Invitational on Saturday at Cerritos College.
The Cerritos Invitational has become one of the most competitive and largest community college meets in the nation, with over 30 colleges and 2000 entrants.
Sophomore Alexandria Zamora and freshman Margaret Mitchell both had LBCC’s top finish with ninth place.
Zamora was ninth in the 400 meters at 1:03.25 and Mitchell took ninth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.9.
Other top-20 marks for the Vikings:
Malia Palacios, 800, 13th, 2:29.19
Amanda Hernandez, 400, 18th, 1:07.37
Diane Lopez, 5000, 20:54.02
The Vikings will be back in action on Sunday (Mar 1) at the USC Trojan Relays. |
