Women’s Track and Field:
LBCC sprinters face tough competition at Aztec Classic
The LBCC women’s track and field team earned four top-10 finishes at the Aztec Classic at San Diego State University on Saturday. The invitational meet featured NCAA Division I and II university teams as well community college and independent track and field club teams.
Six LBCC freshmen sprinters made the trip south to San Diego.
Leading the way was Sakoya Daley. Her time of 12.54 was good for seventh place overall in the open division of the 100 meter dash. She was the top community college finisher in the event.
Daley also cruised to eighth place in the 200 open with a time of 25.53. In the invitational division, Daley took 15th in the 100 (12.99) and 10th in the 200 (25.82).
Also fnishing among the top 10 was Latonya Estrin in the invitational division of the 400. Her time of 1:00.14 was good for ninth place overall.
